Stahlman Group's Process Division has extensive processing and technical design experience in the Food and Beverage Industry. Our core competencies include feasibility and conceptual design, detailed process design, project automation management, commissioning and training.

 

Our product is the planning, technical design and delivery of food and beverage projects in all sizes and complexities consistent with the financial and operational constraints as envisioned by management. We manage the entire effort from concept to engineering, construction to startup and from training to sustainable operation.

                                       

Our approach to projects in the processing areas typically involves activities such as listed below.

 

Master Planning: On-site expansion or relocation are pragmatic considerations when reacting to change and achieving the most cost effective use of facilities. We provide objective technical and budget analysis of renovation, expansion or alternative locations against the known attributes of current operating situations.

Feasibility Studies: As the first stage of project conceptualization, technical feasibility studies identify the facility, utility, spatial, operational and environmental impacts associated with pursuing the proposed course of action.

 

Conceptual Design: The development of optional solutions and alternative approaches are then evaluated and agreed upon by the Owner as the correct course of future action. Typically an Order of Magnitude estimate accompanies the alternatives for financial impact evaluation.

 

Design Basis: Documentation that captures the essence of the project in terms of process flow diagrams, floor layouts, space utilization, automation concepts, schedule and basic description of the operation. 

 

Detailed Design: Documents that describe the exact scope and definition of the work to be executed. Included under this umbrella are construction packages such as mechanical, electrical, millwright, automation packages, installation drawings and functional descriptions.

 

Process Control & Automation: We custom design automation packages that meet client needs and capabilities as required for the process application. The design includes description of operations, functional system description, hardware specification, software implementation and commissioning.

 

Project Management: The leadership required to deliver the project in the best financial and operational interest of the customer. We have experience in projects of diverse size, product and service capability.

 

Commissioning and Training Services: We custom design, lead and execute the required commissioning activities necessary to validate equipment, processes and finished products. Our programs for associate training are custom designed for individual operations and budgetary requirements. We are capable of the full compliment of technical training delivery from simple startup coordination services to fully documented systems on electronic and video media that facilitate technology transfer to multiple sites and installations.
